WEB DEVELOPER // 6 MONTH CONTRACT
We are currently looking for a Junior/Intermediate Web Developer (minimum 2 working years experience). Candidate must have strong web development skills. As a web developer you will participate in the systems design, development and maintenance of dynamic web sites and web applications.
Please note that this is a developers position, NOT a web design position. This position requires the implementation of supplied website creative as well as application development.
Key Responsibilities:- Build and maintain websites and web applications in a variety of scripting languages; websites must work cross browser and cross platform to our internal specifications which are constantly changing to keep up with new browsers
- Websites must validate against the W3C markup validation service and CSS validation service (as closely as possible while maintaining design integrity and cross browser compatibility)
- Websites must be built to facilitate the best SEO ranking (ranking factors change constantly and candidate will be expected to keep up on the coding factors that can affect SEO)
- Remote web server maintenance
- DNS maintenance
- Communicate with customers via telephone and in person meetings
- Have outstanding knowledge of HTML/DHTML
- Be proficient in PHP
- Knowledge and experience with ASP and/or ASP.NET
- Knowledge of Photoshop is a MUST- candidate will be expected to work with Photoshop
- Be familiar with MySql and SQL 2000/2005 database use in code and back-end maintenance (MySql is used more than SQL.
- Have exceptional knowledge of CSS and its uses
- Excellent knowledge of JavaScript, jQuery and AJAX is a must
- Know the key requirements for successful SEO
- Knowledge of Windows Server 2003/8 and IIS 6 and 7, for web server maintenance would be considered an asset
- Experience with Flash and ActionScript Programming would be an asset
- Ability to code closely to supplied graphic design layouts; paying close attention to detail
- Works well as part of a creative team
